Q. Which version of Windows 8 do we get with our Campus Agreement licensing?
A. Campus Agreement customers are licensed for Windows 8 Enterprise for all their institutional machines that have a Windows or Mac OS.

Q. Where do I download Windows 8 Enterprise?
A. You will find Windows 8 Enterprise under the Software Assurance section (not the Windows section) of the “Downloads and Keys” area of the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC). You can also find it there by typing “Windows 8 Enterprise” in the search filter in the “Downloads and Keys” area the VLSC.
Q. Why is Windows 8 Enterprise listed under Software Assurance on the download site?
A. Only customers who have Software Assurance are licensed for Windows 8 Enterprise.
A. Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 both require the Volume Activation 2.0 process for deployment. This is the same activation process utilized by Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 2008 Server. Click here for more information regarding the activation process.
Q. Where do I get the KMS and MAK keys?
A. Get MAK and KMS codes by logging in with your Windows Live ID on the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC), then go to the “Downloads and Keys” link. Search for the product by typing the product name in the Filter field. Then click the Key link for the product.
Q. How do I get access to my college’s agreements on Microsoft’s licensing site?
A. You can request access by by logging in with your Windows Live ID on the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC), then clicking the Administration link, then Request Permissions. You will need to know your college’s agreement Enrollment number. If you do not know that number, email [email protected] and we can assist you.
Q. How do I get additional activations for my MAK or KMS keys?
A. Email [email protected] or [email protected] and the Microsoft Activation Support team can provide you with additional keys. This may be necessary when using MAK keys because you are granted a set number of activations. However, your Campus Agreement Windows 8 Enterprise licensing is a site license, allow you to install on any number of institutionally owned machines on campus. A KMS key can activate six KMS hosts with 10 activations per host. Each host can activate an unlimited number of computers.
